GCAL, AGL To Sponsor New York State Jewelers Association Annual Awards Dinner
NEW YORK, NY ― July 24, 2007 ― American Gemological Laboratories (AGL) and Gem
Certification & Assurance Lab (GCAL) are Platinum Level Sponsors of this year’s New York
State Jewelers Association (NYSJA) Annual Awards Dinner, to be held on July 28, at the
Mandarin Oriental Hotel, 80 Columbus Circle at 60th St., in New York City.
AGL and GCAL are sponsoring the Evening Cocktails and Silent Auction portion of the event.
The labs have donated an autographed Mickey Mantle baseball for the auction, authenticated
by Collectors Universe, parent company of AGL and GCAL, in keeping with their focus on thirdparty
certification and authentication.
Michael R. Haynes, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Collectors Universe Inc., will serve
as auctioneer for the Silent Auction. An expert auctioneer, Mr. Haynes has more than 20 years
of experience in managing both public and private companies engaged in the business of selling
collectibles at auction, retail and wholesale. Mr. Haynes also was one of the co-founding board
members of the Industry Council for Tangible Assets, a Washington, D.C. trade association for
dealers and auctioneers of tangible and collectible assets.
