GCAL and AGL Agree with Malca-Amit to Use Worldwide Security Services for Submissions and Take-in Windows

GCAL and AGL have agreed with Malca-Amit USA, LLC to use the worldwide delivery system of Malca-Amit to enhance the international submission operations of these labs.

NEW YORK, NY - March 28, 2007- Gem Certification & Assurance Lab (GCAL) and American Gemological Laboratories (AGL) have agreed with Malca-Amit USA, LLC to use the worldwide delivery system of Malca-Amit to enhance the international submission operations of these labs. Malca-Amit (www.malcaamit.com) operates high value security services in 23 countries with 53 offices. Initially, Malca-Amit will be accepting diamond and colored gemstone submissions for authentication and grading in 18 offices in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

"We believe this is a key relationship for our diamond services since these markets are worldwide in scope," explained Don Palmieri, President of Gem Certification & Assurance Lab. "By using the bricks and mortar of Malca-Amit, a highly respected security service in the jewelry markets, we now are better able to extend our reach into the important diamond centers of the world."

Some of the diamond and colored gemstone markets to be served directly by GCAL and AGL through Malca-Amit include Antwerp, Brussels, Bangkok, Dubai, Geneva, Hong Kong, London, Mumbai, Surat, Tel Aviv, Toronto and Zurich.

“With the international systems of Malca-Amit, which often include door-to-door service, we will be able to offer AGL authentication and grading services as close and convenient as the lobby of the gemstone dealers’ offices,” stated C.R. “Cap” Beesley, President of American Gemological Laboratories. “This is part of our continuing development with international dealers and the manufacturing community so that we can easily include third party certification along with colored gemstone jewelry that the consumer receives, thereby increasing confidence in the retail purchase and enhancing the opportunity for additional purchases in the future.”

“We are pleased to provide this service to the divisions of Collectors Universe and we anticipate a long and fruitful relationship,” said Shlomo Malka, Vice President of Malca-Amit. “We believe that with the expansion of their operations and our multi-national network of offices will provide the best opportunity to meet the needs of their clients and customers.”
